Dust storms & Air Conditioning…

Thank God for whomever invented A/C.  Without him, I don’t know how Americans would make it in the Middle East.  This place is HOT!  So luckily, the US Army has invested in A/C for every building on base in Kuwait.  Even our sleeping tents.

The Tent!

The Tent!

It’s not too bad here.  There is plenty to do.  Tons of places to eat.  And my favorite, Starbucks.  Most people don’t go out for long during the day.  It’s just too hot.  It gets to around 115 (F) midday here, but in August it gets even hotter.  The evenings are nice.  Probably closer to 90 (F).  And because it is so dry, it is easy to walk around without getting too warm.

The wind is what gets bothersome though.  There is so much sand blowing around that your ears, eyes, and nose are practically filled.  At some points you can barely see!  Hopefully it will be better in our final destination.  We shouldn’t be here long.
